Grains Strengths in Brazil
LDC operates in Brazil’s corn segment, including the dry milling corn processing market. As one of the largest exporters of Brazilian corn, we leverage our comprehensive logistics network of warehouses, port terminals and waterways in the country’s main producing regions.
In 2014, LDC opened a new chapter in its history in Brazil, with the acquisition of Kowalski Alimentos, one of the largest dry corn processors in the country, with products for both industry and end consumers, including pet food and fish feed.
Our entry into the processed corn market allows us to participate more fully in the grains value chain, diversifying our revenue by offering more value-added products.
Oilseeds Strengths in Brazil
LDC is among the largest soybean originators, processors and exporters in the country, and also operates in the cottonseed and groundnut markets, offering its own brands of refined soybean oil Vila Velha, cottonseed meal Pagador and groundnut meal Mandubi to the Brazilian market.
The cornerstone of our oilseed business in the country is the strong, trusted relationships we build with farmers, leveraging our expertise to support them among other things with logistics, storage, access to credit and barter operations, while promoting responsible agricultural practices.
Our origination and logistics teams work closely together to transport soybeans, corn and crushing by-products for export, via a complex network of highways, railways, waterways and ports.
Our inputs distribution business, which includes fertilizers, chemicals and seeds, completes LDC’s offer to farmer-customers.
Committed to Sustainability
In addition to our strong merchandizing capabilities, growing product portfolio and reputation for reliability and integrity, our leading position in grains and oilseeds is also connected with our commitment to responsible sourcing, traceable supply chains and sustainable business practices globally.
Increasing traceability in our palm and soy operations is also central to our sustainability efforts, to encourage responsible land use and non-conversion of native vegetation for soy and palm cultivation.
