About Juice

Our juice business offers orange, lime, lemon, and apple juices, as well as natural citrus flavors and fragrance ingredients, dry peel for the pectin industry, and animal feed.

When we process citrus fruits, nothing is wasted. Juice is extracted, peel is dried, oils are recovered and all remaining pulp is transformed into fiber-rich citrus-pulp pellets used as an animal feed ingredient.

Oil essences and aromas are primarily used by the flavor and fragrance industries, while dry peel from ripe oranges, lemons and limes is used to extract pectin, which is sold to the food industry as a gelling agent, thickening agent and stabilizer.

Brazil is by far the largest orange juice producer in the world, responsible for 70% of global production.

Our Strengths in Brazil

Operating in Brazil for over 30 years, our Juice Platform has a strong presence in the country. LDC’s juice operation are fully integrated, with over 30,000 hectares of sustainably grown citrus groves – strategically located across the country’s Citrus belt – as well as three citrus juice plants and a cutting-edge juice terminal at the Port of Santos.

Not only does our Brazilian juice operations span the entire value chain, it includes a range of fruits, such as orange, lemon and lime in its portfolio. The fruits are transformed into high quality, sustainable and traceable juice targeting the FCOJ (frozen concentrate orange juice) and NFC (not from concentrate) orange juice markets.

We also market fresh oranges and lemons, as well as specialty by-products such as citrus fruit essential oils, terpenes, dried and washed peel, as well as citrus pulp pellets (CPP).

Investing in Research & Diversifying Downstream

We continue to explore opportunities to innovate and diversify our portfolio with even more sustainable, high quality, value-added products, including further downstream in the value chain, closer to end-consumers.

We launched our first owned consumer-facing juice brand, Montebelo Brasil, in various European and Asian countries, distributing to end customers in partnership with local retailers. We also expanded our natural citrus ingredients portfolio with folded oils and fractions for the flavor and fragrance market.

Committed to Sustainable Juice

As a fundamental element of our juice production strategy, we have built sustainable solutions into our operations across the juice value chain.
