Supporting Front Line Medical Workers in the US
LDC colleagues from our Winter Garden office in Florida supported a valued customer – Tropical Smoothie Café – to deliver 100,000 smoothies to doctors, nurses, first responders and community volunteers across the US, working on the front line of the fight against Covid-19.
LDC supplies citrus juice from its Brazilian farms to this national smoothie and food chain, and is a sponsor of their yearly Tropical Smoothie Café Convention in Orlando, Florida.
Following the cancellation of the 2020 convention due to the pandemic, Tropical Smoothie Café decided instead to focus on supporting front line workers during the pandemic with this initiative, which they called the‘100,000 Smoothie Challenge’.
“When we heard about the initiative, we decided to donate the funds allocated for the convention sponsorship to contribute to this effort and support local communities. The positive reactions from front line workers made us proud to be a part of this.”
