LDC’s operations in Brazil in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic
Since January 2020, Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has been adopting concrete and preventive measures to mitigate the spread of the virus and the risks to our people and operations, in line with the guidelines set forth by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Department of Health, and in compliance with the law. Our first concern is with the well-being of our people, their families, and the partners who work with us, and we are taking the utmost precautions to maintain everyone’s safety and health.
Preventive actions and guidelines apply to all employees, third parties and visitors, to reduce the risk of contagion within our operations. We also share good practices with all our suppliers, encouraging them to adopt them.
In addition to the actions already posted on our website, other measures have been taken, such as:
- Daily body temperature checks and symptom monitoring for all professionals, upon arrival at work.
- Employees with symptoms suggesting contamination by Covid-19 are immediately removed from work, submitted to a test provided by the company to confirm the diagnosis, and monitored by our healthcare team.
- Preventive measures emphasized every day in Daily Safety Dialogs (DSD), always in small groups and maintaining recommended distancing.
- Mandatory use of masks in all units and work areas.
- Distribution of masks and other PPE to all employees.
- Anticipation of the flu vaccination campaign for all employees.
- Social distancing in work areas, including in cafeterias and buses.
- ‘Telemedicine’ service with free consultations on the topic for all employees and their families.
- Communication reinforcement about our our ‘Personal Support’ channel, offering specialized counseling in psychological, legal or financial matters.
Protecting the health and safety of every person working for and with LDC is our priority.
