Now in its 12th edition, the initiative has already benefited more than 11,000 primary school children in state schools

São Paulo, Brazil, November 18, 2025 – Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has launched the 12th edition of its Together for the Environment (Juntos Pelo Meio Ambiente – JPMA) program, aimed at primary school pupils in state schools. This year, around 1,500 children from 29 schools in municipalities in São Paulo and Minas Gerais will take part in the activities.

Throughout the program, students visit citrus farms managed by LDC, where they learn about citrus farming, recycling, and environmental preservation through hands-on experiences. Activities include educational workshops, guided tours, and planting native seedlings – more than 10,000 seedlings have been planted since the initiative began in 2012.

In 2024, the project was expanded to involve the entire juice value chain, with lectures and activities in public schools in the municipalities where LDC’s industrial sites are located: Bebedouro (SP), Matão (SP), Paranavaí (PR), and the Juice Terminal at the port of Santos (SP). This year, activities are planned such as planting native seedlings at a school in Bebedouro, theatrical performances in the city of Santos, and environmental education workshops with guided tours at the Matão and Paranavaí facilities, where students will have the opportunity to learn about the juice production process up close. All activities are coordinated and carried out with the support of approximately 200 volunteer employees from the company.

“When children understand from an early age that their choices and actions impact the environment, they begin to see the world with more responsibility. The JPMA program plants this seed: that sustainability is not a distant subject, but part of everyday life. It is gratifying to see how they absorb this content, being able to take it home and share it with their families, influencing habits and attitudes. The teachers’ reports are also very positive – they highlight that the practical activities complement the content learned in the classroom and help to shape more conscious citizens,” says Julia Moscardini, Juice Sustainability Manager at LDC in Brazil.

The 2025 edition, which is expected to impact around 25 cities and more than 1,500 children, is scheduled to be completed by early December. Since its creation, the JPMA program has impacted more than 11,000 students, promoting practical and educational experiences at LDC sites.
