Louis Dreyfus Company Acquires Grains & Oilseeds Warehouse in Entre Ríos, Argentina

Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 4, 2024 – Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) announced today the acquisition of its first warehouse in Entre Ríos province, Argentina, near Gobernador Mansilla, as part of its strategic plans to further reinforce its Grains & Oilseeds merchandizing operations in the country.

Located 190 kilometers from LDC’s agro-industrial complex in Timbúes, Santa Fe province, the new warehouse has a static capacity of 7,500 tons in silos, as well as surrounding land enabling additional storage in silo bags, allowing the facility to store and condition different grains and oilseeds throughout the year, such as soybeans, wheat, corn, camelina, carinata and rapeseed. The site also has three silos for the storage and dispatch of fertilizers, which will facilitate and speed up the delivery of LDC’s Macro Fertil products to local farmers. Investments are in progress to upgrade the facility’s infrastructure and technology, so that it can receive wheat as soon as the harvest begins in November.

“Building on our 15 years of third-party operations in Entre Ríos, we are enthusiastic about the start of operations at our own site, the acquisition of which reflects our long-term commitment to local producers,” says Juan Tizado, LDC’s Regional Grains & Oilseeds Origination Manager for South & West Latin America. “In addition to our multidisciplinary team at the site, who will provide commercial, logistical and financial solutions to producers in the region, this warehouse will be an important center for corn distribution to poultry producers, as a key industry in the province.”

“The new facility will also support LDC’s sustainable journey, enabling 100% traceability to farm for products sourced in the region,” added Victoria Capalbo, LDC’s Regional Grains & Oilseeds Sustainability Manager for South & West Latin America. “In addition, we will be able to receive and condition camelina, a new ultra-low carbon crop introduced and promoted by LDC with Camelina Company since 2023, with an excellent performance in the area.”

The acquisition of Mansilla warehouse supports the expansion of LDC’s origination activities in the country, complementing the incorporation of the Group’s Río del Valle and Trilí warehouses in Salta and La Pampa provinces respectively, as well as the expansion of its Campo Largo warehouse in La Pampa, which began in mid-2024 and are expected to be complete by mid-2025.
