The Louis Dreyfus Company are currently recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator, based in Toowoomba. This role is responsible for coordinating the road transport logistics function for cottonseed across LDC’s Australian domestic cotton footprint. Specifically, this role will coordinate the physical movement of cottonseed to enable the fulfillment of LDC’s contractual commitments across cottonseed purchases and sales. This is a customer and supplier facing role which relies on excellent communication to deliver results in line with expectations. This role works closely with Trading, Supply Chain, Operations and Back Office functions, providing exposure to a range of functions across the LDC Australia Cotton platform.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute logistics at LDC to ensure contractual obligations in the execution of all contracts - both purchase and sales - are met.
  • Process customer deliveries in-line with their expectations, requirements, and job-type in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Provide reporting, for all logistics related activities, including (but not limited to) freight costings, freight sensitivity, executed tonnages and storage capacities.
  • Collaborate with the cotton gin managers and weighbridge staff to manage shed capacities effectively.
  • Ensure all road freight contractors are contracted in agreement with LDC’s SHE and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) policies and procedures.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with all carriers and third-party supply chain stakeholders.
  • Accurately entry data across multiple inventory and contract management systems.

Essential Skills

  • You will have 3-5 years of experience in a logistics or supply chain coordination/management function with a demonstrated ability to organize road transport logistics.
  • You will have a good understanding of post-farm-gate agricultural enterprises.
  • Experience with cotton and/or grain logistics and a basic understanding of commodity trading will be highly regarded.
  • You will have a sound understanding of AP/AR principles.
  • You will have excellent time management skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • You will be highly organized and able to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities effectively.
  • Experience with the AgTech/Grainsmart commodity management platform is advantageous.

Desired but not essential skills

  • A sound understanding of standard form commodity contracts (GTA and GAFTA) is highly desirable.
  • An undergraduate degree in supply chain management, business or commerce is highly regarded, but not essential.
