This role serves as the regional lead for digital customer engagement as well customer data strategy & management through the scouting of ideas, validation of business needs/opportunities and (co)management of the implementation of initiatives. Main partner supporting the digital integration of LDC’s Regenerative Agriculture program into overall commercial activities.

Responsible for promoting the adoption of new technological solutions and facilitating the incorporation of analytical models and techniques for data analysis with a customer centricity view.

The role requires a close working relationship with commercial and functional teams including the Grains & Oilseeds, Cotton Commercial Group, Regenerative Agriculture Lead, IT, Domestic Execution as well as Business Development.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Guide embedding of technologies and tools needed for data capture, processing and reporting into the company’s commercial activities, in order to measure and improve effectiveness of RegenAg initiatives
  • Map opportunities to improve the farmer & customer digital experience through the LDC’s digital platforms and works closely with the IT team on the execution & implementation of platform enhancements
  • Benchmark LDCs digital platform capabilities to that of peers while working directly with producers & customers to understand their pain points and opportunities to streamline engagement and improve overall customer service experience
  • Coordinate efforts to collect and organize data generated through commercial activities to improve origination, merchandising and overall sustainability & traceability strategies
  • Facilitate the development and enhancement of data-driven insights toward a better understanding of producer and customer behavior, in order to to optimize commercial efforts and identify new business opportunities / verticals
  • Responsible for leading, guiding, and providing support to cross-functional teams with a multidisciplinary approach throughout the ideation, development, adoption and scale of digital solutions

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support business case development for new digital initiatives; contribute to the business model definition and business plan write-ups
  • Work closely with LDC’s Regenerative Agriculture Lead to support successful deployment of RegenAg programs initiatives across LDC’s North America agriculture supply chain
  • Attend relevant ag-tech conferences and events, aiming to identify new opportunities for digital development
  • Serve as a champion for local digital initiatives across the Commercial and RegenAg portfolio roadmap and backlog, driving adoption of tools internally and externally, and providing visibility on value generated by each project

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

Basic qualification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business Administration or other business discipline.

 

Experience

Basic qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years in a digital transformation role preferably within the agriculture supply chain at a CPG, Seed, Chemical, Food Ingredient, Ag Equipment Provider, or Grain Company  
  • Demonstrated experience in cross functional roles that requires coordination of multiple stakeholders and finding consensus

Preferred

  • Understanding of farmer engagement, grain & feed origination & marketing as well as logistics management  
  • Agronomy or agribusiness background

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

Basic qualifications:

  • Problems solving attitude, curiosity and flexibility to quickly move across different initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize multiple responsibilities, prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software, (e.g., Excel and MS Word).
  • Must have valid driver’s license

 

Equipment Used

  • Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, fax machine.

 

Working Conditions

  • Primarily climate-controlled office environment.  Periodic visits to industrial operations areas are necessary with exposure during such visits to variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions. Interacts closely with personnel in other departments and company locations, interacts closely with middle and senior level management, domestic travel to visit customers required (up to 25% at times).  Call-ins or the extension of regular working hours (50+ hours per week) are occasionally needed to complete time-sensitive projects or respond to emergencies.

  • No direct supervision responsibilities but role will serve a in a project management capacity
