This position is responsible for helping the Company achieve its ongoing growth plan in the commodities industry.  The primary function of this position is supporting business development and M&A projects including all aspects from start to finish.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Analyzes business development and M&A opportunities including investment returns, business models and long term strategy for the company

• Performs valuation analysis including building DCF models and assessing cost of capital, comparable transactions and benchmarking against the industry

• Supports Business Development team on managing and structuring projects from start to finish in all aspects of a transaction including legal, tax, accounting and finance

• Develops financial models and performs valuation analysis to analyze investment returns, project financing and acquisition financing

• Supports internal investment process by working closely with business units to build investment cases and make recommendations to the business development group and management

• Supports existing operations with financial performance evaluation of industrial assets and strategic acquisitions including financial reporting to banks under project financing

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

The following is the required qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, accounting, legal, or engineering-related field.

 

Experience

The following are the required qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of working experience in a corporate development, investing, and/or M&A role
  • Track record of composing detailed valuation and financial models using standard valuation techniques (DCF analysis, WACC calculation, tax effects, etc.)
  • Experience working as team member supporting the execution of transactions such as acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, partnerships, loans, etc.
  • Experience in conducting market analyses / projections and regulatory reviews preferred.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The following qualifications are required: 

  • Must possess a basic understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS accounting principles.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, including ability to create pro forma financial statements and valuation models using standard valuation techniques (DCF).
  • Must be proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Basic familiarity with corporate tax concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organization skills with proven ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in a written and spoken English.

 

This position is hybrid and required to be in the office 4 days.
