To do so, we are transforming to embrace more of the agricultural value chain, working with both suppliers and customers to ensure the sustainable and traceable product journey, from farm to fork, that customers, consumers and our planet expect from us.

We recognize that our activities at all stages of the value chain have an impact on the environment, and touch the people who work for us or live near our facilities. LDC takes its responsibility for managing that impact very seriously, and continually seeks to minimize its environmental footprint.
Sustainability is central to our business model, and therefore a daily consideration for our regional and commercial teams, who address sustainability issues in everything we do, and wherever we operate.

Our Heritage
For almost 170 years, we have sourced agricultural products where they are grown, and transported and transformed them for customers and consumers around the world, working with a wide range of trusted partners – from smallholder farmers to global organizations.
We have been at the forefront of global trade with China since our first cotton trade in 1973, and became the first foreign merchandizing company to buy and sell agricultural products in 2005.
Today, we employ more than 1,000 people in our plants and offices throughout China, a country we increasingly regard as a vital market for LDC.
