The Challenge
Eliminate waste from the value chain stages we control, including by investing in logistics to optimize origination and reduce post-harvest waste, and help others reduce waste.
Action in 2020
- Efficiency gains led to a significant reduction in the amount of solid waste sent to landfill across all regions, contributing to a 45% reduction for LDC overall.
- Innovation by our rapeseed crushing and biodiesel plant in Germany drove a very significant reduction of annual volume of solid waste by 4,630 MT, by repurposing processing by-products.
