About Juice

Our juice business offers orange, lime, lemon, and apple juices, as well asĀ natural citrus flavors and fragrance ingredients, dry peel for the pectin industry, and animal feed.

When we process citrus fruits, nothing is wasted. Juice is extracted, peel is dried, oils are recovered and all remaining pulp is transformed into fiber-rich citrus-pulp pellets used as an animal feed ingredient.

Oil essences and aromas are primarily used by the flavor and fragrance industries, while dry peel from ripe oranges, lemons and limes is used to extract pectin, which is sold to the food industry as a gelling agent, thickening agent and stabilizer.

Brazil is by far the largest orange juice producer in the world, responsible for 70% of global production.

Our Juice Value Chain

Our business lines are integrating further across the five steps of our value chain, as we respond to the need for a traceable and responsible supply line from farmer to consumer.

01Originate & Produce

01Originate & Produce

In addition to growing citrus fruits ourselves, we share our expertise with farmers and producers, ourselves or with business partners and expert organizations, as part of our commitment to responsible, sustainable and traceable supply chains.

02Process

02Process

Once bought or harvested, we bring crops to our assets for the next stage in their journey. These are ethically and sustainably processed, coming one step closer to the consumer.

03Store & Transport

03Store & Transport

Our strategically located plants in the Brazilian citrus belt allows us easy access to farmers, while our port terminals and chartered eco-fleet of vessels enable us to access our clients with lean and cost-efficient bulk logistics.

Our Strengths in the US

We supply US customers with orange, lemon and lime juices, as well as value-added oils and food grade dry peel derived from the fruits.

We grow and source fruit responsibly, process it into high quality juice and supply brands and private label bottlers who in turn supply the North American retail market.

We supply our customers from a facility with a capacity to store 8 million gallons, ensuring just-in-time delivery, meeting customer requirements for juice shipments in tankers or drums, and customizing orange juice formulations to address their preferences.

We are upgrading our global fleet with two ocean vessels to carry both from concentrate and not from concentrate juice, each with a capacity of 3 million gallons, and both with specialized tanks to keep large volumes of juice aseptic without need for preservatives.

Leveraging our global presence, logistics network, research capabilities and integrated value chain, LDC is well positioned to offer customers supply chain traceability and risk management.

Committed to Sustainability

As a fundamental element of our juice production strategy, we have built sustainable solutions into our operations across the juice value chain.
