The Project Manager position is a key role to advance the overall DT&A Project Portfolio through hands-on project management and analysis, delivering real-world results on assigned projects. Specifically, this position provides strong project management capabilities across a wide array of application and functional areas in support of the company’s top business priorities within the North America region.  Additionally, this role may support projects leveraging business analysis skillset where needed to maintain pace on key projects. Like many roles within the DT&A team, this role is expected to wear multiple ‘hats’ depending on business need and project priority. The focus of this role is heavily weighted toward hands-on project management and delivery, though may include serving in a business analysis role on an as-needed basis, with an expected low time allocation.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Take an extremely hands-on, activist approach to managing projects across the Functional scope of the company’s business operations.
  • Manage the coordination of schedule, meeting, analysis and implementation activities for project team resources, including DT&A team members, business partners, and vendors.
  • Drive projects forward to successful completion, taking a central role to define innovative solutions, remove roadblocks, and manage risks.
  • Work collaboratively with solution managers to define project scope, timeline, objectives and resource requirements that support business goals in collaboration with regional stakeholders and other DT&A teams. Maintain and manage project planning showing key deliverables, milestones, dependences, and scope.
  • Provide vendor management, stakeholder management, communication and change management to deliver quality results to the business.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks and potential impact, and identify mitigation steps and contingency planning as needed with relevant communication to project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Work within a variety of project management methodologies, adapting approach to suit the business need.
  • Work continuously to build expertise of the company’s business operations, functions, and processes.
  • When required, serve in a business analyst capacity, partnering with business unit personnel to understand business needs and translate those needs into functional requirements, define test cases and manage project UAT needs, and performing other business or project analysis tasks as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • As with all other roles within the DT&A team, the emphasis is strongly on tackling any tasks needed to drive progress and successful outcomes, rather than artificial task silos by role or title. As a result, other various duties and responsibilities may be assigned on an ad hoc basis across projects and other team activities.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited 4-year college or university

Experience

Basic qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated project management experience in the areas of system and software development and deployment, or process improvement. 
  • Experience working in multiple project methodologies, covering variations within Waterfall and Agile
  • Hands-on experience with successfully managing DT&A projects involving multiple business stakeholders, DT&A functions and vendors
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a hands-on manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis tasks and activities

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong technical or operational experience in financial, business operations, or trading systems.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

Basic qualifications:

  • DT&A project management experience with a proven track record in implementation, testing, and deployment of applications in an enterprise environment
  • History of delivering results against rigorous project schedules
  • High energy, results driven
  • Ability to proactively manage and communicate project schedule challenges and changes, implementing revised planning while keeping stakeholders informed
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Able to influence and build consensus
  • Must understand project management best practices, and be able to adapt elements of best practice methodology to fit the project or business need

Working Conditions

  • Typical climate-controlled office environment.  Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time sensitive projects, attend training or to respond to emergencies.  Spends long periods of time working on a computer screen.  Occasional travel may be required.

  • May assist with the following: Analysis of back-office business systems and integration processes; documents operational specifications requirements; translates business process into computer system requirements; reviews systems and makes recommendations for customization based on knowledge of relevant business processes; applies thorough understanding of the software development life cycle; efficient implementations of system enhancements that meet user requirements and project deadlines; recommends procedural changes to operational personnel and management as deemed necessary.
