As a Regional Internal Control Senior Specialist, you will be a part of the Regional Internal Control Team and you will interact closely with the Global, Regional, and Local teams. You are required to collaborate closely and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders such as Regional Internal Control Manager within the Asia region, Internal Control team across the globe, Regional Controlling team, Accounting team, Commercial team, Execution team, Finance team, IT team who may be stationed across different countries.

Reporting to Regional Internal Control Manager, this role will support in the daily activities of the Internal Control Team including process monitoring/innovation, projects monitoring/innovation, and key risks escalation with minimal business impact. You will need to ensure that the internal control failure risks are minimized, with a primary focus on trading activities (TTC).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive the internal controls/risks culture, and act as the guardian of the LDC’s transverse controls (i.e. TTC), while supporting the risk awareness campaigns
  • Collaborate closely, work efficiently with the cross-functional Global/Regional/Local teams to ensure the LDC TTC Control frameworks are in place, to reduce risks control in conformity with the LDC Group’s standards by:
    • Leading initiatives/projects that are focused on risk management & process efficiency
    • Identifying issues/exceptions remediations, lessons learnt in the initiatives/projects
    • Identifying, assessing, and monitoring the business risks/incidents and best practices
    • Understanding the root causes, providing innovative recommendations/solutions to manage such business risks/incidents, to follow-up on the solutions implementation, and to analyze the policy exceptions
  • Contribute and support the modernization/efficiency of the control processes (i.e. TTC-linked including people, processes, tools, etc). Reinforce the creation of a robust control environment to ensure that it is in place, and that each control environment has an owner who is aware & able to fulfill the controls assigned to them respectively
  • Contribute and suggest innovative solutions to provide a robust control execution (e.g. partner with Finance Business Process Owners, Compliance Monitoring, IT departments to deliver technology enhancements in various aspects such as automation/digitalization of controls, etc)
  • Monitor business risks by interacting with Global, Regional, Local teams and/or other channels (e.g. tools monitoring, markets research, etc) to assess and suggest continuous improvement to the control environment
  • Analyze controls’ quality reviews and issue recommendations/solutions to guarantee a strong control/risk execution, and to support process reviews to recognize sustainable control upgrades
  • Create/Produce reporting tools and key performance metrics to build a robust control system to assist in business decision-making
  • Assist in the execution of Global, Regional, Local changes in controls/methodologies
  • Assist in the supervision of the work of other team members within the Asia region

Experiences:

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant working experiences in Internal Control/Product Control/Business Analysis/Management Accounting/Audit
  • Working knowledge of Financial Markets, in particular Commodity and Foreign Exchange Markets
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Data Analytics Software (ACL) tools
  • Knowledge of SQL and PowerBI is a plus
  • Experience in Audit Business Cycles (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Trade-to-Cash, Capex, EH&S, Inventory management, Logistics, Maintenance, Production management, etc)
  • Experience in financial consolidation/reporting is a plus
  • Knowledge of key Derivatives Trading/Hedge Accounting and best practices are mandatory
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for details
  • Good business sense with high level vision
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses and implement process improvements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & management
  • Ability to handle/prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent self-starter who takes initiative, and has a proactive attitude toward problems and issues
  • Flexibility on working hours during periodic closings/projects monitoring

Academics:
