Overall Purpose:

Our current situation is indeed challenging, characterized by decentralized management of logistics suppliers, partial non-standardized processes & inefficient operations, and a lack of transparency in logistics costs.

The supply chain manager role would address, solve these issues by focusing on cross-platform integration and centralization of suppliers, seeking strategic cooperation opportunities, optimizing logistics costs, standardizing & centralizing the processes across commodities, and enhancing risk management.

 

Main accountabilities (Main Responsibilities):

Take lead of overall sourcing activities, secondary cost analysis, logistics cost optimization, digitalization projects, process standardization & centralization across all the commodities,

 

  • Sourcing & Secondary Cost Analysis & Cost Optimization
  • Centralize and integrate logistics supplier resource across all the commodities.
  • Build & implement the LSP management policy and standardize sourcing operation across all the commodities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service criteria. Improve the transparency and fairness of the process of suppliers’ appointment and management, ensure a stable and orderly logistics supplier base.
  • Strategic supplier management, strong partnership maintenance, develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with the company’s business objectives, negotiate for strategic cooperation to secure favorable terms for the company.
  • Standardize the process of cross-commodity supplier utilization, performance evaluation, ensure the consistent quality and reliability of services.
  • Discuss and align with platforms for business requests / demands, work with local logistics team to prepare related qualified supplier resource accordingly.
  • Secondary cost integration & centralization across for all the commodities, conduct detailed analysis, compare the estimated cost vs actual cost, identify optimization opportunities.
  • Work with local logistics team on cost saving initiatives, provide smart logistics solutions or competitive LSPs across commodities, stay up-to-date with industry trends and best market practices.
  • Conduct freight market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, forecasting, etc. for commercial strong support.

 

  • Logistics Digitalization & Process Standardization, Centralization: Lead for logistics digitalization projects (logistics system, process standardization & centralization), utilize the technology to enhance the efficiency, visibility, responsiveness, standardization of supply chain operations.

 

  • Conduct research and analyze the digitalization strategies of internal & market systems, make the detailed mapping & comprehensive analysis for best solutions and potential areas for innovation. 
  • Evaluate and implement the technologies that can monitor overall logistics activities for efficiency improvements, costs reduction, visibility enhancement, risk monitoring, customer satisfaction improvements, etc.
  • Coordinate with other digitalization initiatives in the other regions of LDC group to leverage potential synergies.
  • Lead process optimization and automation tools implementation for whole logistics process.
  • Standardize & centralize the consistent procedures and protocols for the logistics activities across all the commodities to ensure the seamless integration, efficient operation, service quality improvements.   
  • Standardize, implement the key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the effectiveness of logistics operations, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous enhancement.
  • Standardize & centralize the reporting procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency in logistics operations.
  • Lead logistics contract template management & improvements, summarize the key/attention points for contract review & validation, strengthen the control for potential risk, license mgt (port, barge & truck transportation), etc. 

 

Experience (including number of years):

  • 5+years’ experience in shipping/logistics companies & supply chain management, with a proven track record of executing supply chain strategies and driving results.
  • Be self-driven with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and networking abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead team and manage cross-functional projects.

 

 

Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve supply chain issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of lean operation and continuous improvement methodologies for optimization.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or above in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field is preferred …

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English essential.

Systems:

  • Supply chain Systems knowledge considered a plus .
