LDC has recently announced the expansion of its canola processing facility in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, which will eventually double its current crushing capacity. LDC is currently recruiting for a full-time Process Operator in the Crush Preparation department. Process Operators are responsible for operating equipment for the crush operation. The primary function of this job will be to ensure that the processes are operated and controlled in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with government regulations and company standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Operate processing equipment and completes and log regular checks of equipment to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed, Company standards are met, and plant efficiencies are optimized
  • Work in an organized, safe, and clean manner, ensuring work area is kept clean and free from all safety hazards
  • Respond to equipment issues or alarms, as well as investigate and initiate resolution
  • Ensure compliance with Company safety rules and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities
  • Conduct “in process” quality control tests, enter data into the electronic data system and operate the HMI in the plant
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Shift/Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures, development and maintenance and continuous improvement efforts
  • Actively participate in job-related training as required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing plant environment and/or industrial facility is required
  • 4th Class Power Engineering classification preferred
  • Punctual and willing to work rotating 12-hour shift schedules, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Willingness to learn and grow, as there will be opportunities for advancement within the company and facility with the upcoming site expansion
  • Passion and interest for the agriculture industry

Job Description
