The Louis Dreyfus Company are currently recruiting for Ginners, based in Kununurra. The Ginner is in charge of their shift and must ensure the efficient, effective and safe operation of all areas under their control. This is to be performed in a consistent way in which the ginner has been instructed, to oversee, manage and ensure all areas of the Gin production are operating safely and within state and federal guidelines. This is an opportunity to build on your career in this unique manufacturing/mechanical/agricultural space in Kununurra. You will be developed in manufacturing practices, within a cotton ginning specialisation, which encompasses both Operations and Mechanical Maintenance of world class facilities.     

Remuneration range will be tailored to the level of the role and to the individual depending on qualifications, experience, and knowledge. Relocation expenses can also be negotiated (if required). 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Undertaking of mechanicl based maintenance of safety 
  • The effective running of a shift including bale output, reporting downtime, coordination of casual staff and safety compliance checks 
  • Staff Management – conflict resolution, task delegation 
  • Ensure all EH&S daily, weekly and monthly checks and reporting have been finalised 
  • Identify faults and utilise trouble shooting skills to identify and implement solutions 
  • Training of casual staff according to company standard 
  • Reporting of production turn out – downtimes etc 
  • Ensure maintenance schedule is followed as determined by the site manager 
  • Responsible for the successful mentoring and coaching of Assistant Ginners

Experiences: 

  • Experience providing out of the box solutions to unique and complex operating problems 
  • Exposure to working with a diverse team or shift in remote or isolated environments 
  • Preferred training within a mechanical background and general understanding of hydraulics and moisture systems 
  • Coordination of third parties while on site (contractors, truck drivers, growers, visitors etc) 
  • Industry specific licenses and tickets including open driver’s license
