Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Banking/Online Banking
- Daily reconciliation of bank accounts between general ledger and bank statements
- Analyze daily cash activity to determine funding requirements for the Corporate office
- Correspond with corporate treasury department to ensure funding levels are met
- Enter/process ACH and Wire Transfers
- Responsible for the setup of new ACH customer files
- Accounts Payable Payments
- Process and print payment batches for commodity settlements and other expenses
- Confirm that proper payment support is sent to the counterparty
- Provide support to ensure checks are mailed
- Initiates stop payment requests for checks
- Upload daily payment batch files to online banking system
- Research status of AP transactions as requested and provide timely responses
- Accounts Receivable
- Process daily lockbox activity via online banking including:
- Applying customer cash receipts to open invoices
- Resolve discrepancies and past due balances
- Manages AR prepay balances
- Complete online bank deposits
- Research status of AR transactions as requested and provide timely responses
- Maintain physical and electronic files for open and historical AP/AR documentation, and other banking duties as assigned
- Complete monthly AP balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the year-end and mid-year audits performed by external auditors by gathering and preparing supporting documents and schedules per their information requests.

The following are the basic qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Without having two years’ work experience in accounts payable or banking, some college coursework in accounting is also required
The following is the preferred qualification:
- Associate’s degree (or higher).
Experience
The following is the basic qualification:
- Without having completed some college coursework in accounting, two years’ work experience administering cash management functions in a corporate finance or treasury department or in banking operations, including responsibility for posting cash receipts and reconciliation of accounts
The following is the preferred qualification:
- Two years’ work experience in accounting or banking
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting practices
- Strong practical accounting/banking skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict daily deadlines
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software, (e.g., Excel and MS Word)
The following are the preferred qualifications:
- Strong verbal, written, and documentation skills
- Strong detail-oriented, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to perform critical self-reviews of work product to mitigate potential errors
- Ability to work independently and propose solutions

Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, copier, fax machine, scanner, calculator.
Working Conditions
Typical climate-controlled office environment. Extensions of regular working hour are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects, attend training or to respond to emergencies.

No supervisory responsibilities.
Decision Making/Accountability
Applies knowledge of accounting and banking to analyze routine accounts, determines whether to make adjustments, identifies sources of discrepancies, prioritizes personal workload each day to ensure meeting of deadlines, makes recommendations based on analysis and consults with supervisor regarding complex issues.
