The individual’s mandate is to generate value for LDC by developing relationships with the Egyptian Wheat Buyers that include both Private buyers and the Government.

The individual is required to build strong client relationships, facilitate the sale of cargo, ensure that the sales are executed in the most profitable manner.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Business development

          - Responsible for the development of existing and new client relationships & business solutions

  • Strategy

         - Conduct market research & performance analysis and strategy

  • Budgeting

         - Build the annual Wheat budget

  • 3rd party stakeholder engagement

        - Government bodies (Customs, Port Authority & Revenue Authority)

        - Industry conferences

       - Other relevant industry stakeholders

  • Oversees the Wheat cash program from destination with day-to-day liaising with Origin/Hub/Destination across multiple functions

 

He or she will have the following task specific responsibilities:

  • Sales

  • New business Development and Strategy

  • Counterparty Risk Creation & Risk Queries

  • Weekly Internal Report

  • Wheat Daily Calls

  • Client Visits

  • Vessel PNL Review

  • Monthly Reconciliation with Functions

  • Monthly Commercial Review

  • Monthly Client Operational Review Meeting

  • MTM and Credit Risk Monitoring

  • Follow up on Invoices / Payments

  • Problem Solving & Discharge Terminal / Customs

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of similar experience and multinational environment
  • Specific product knowledge – grain & oilseeds CFR business
  • In depth knowledge of commodity trade
  • Understanding of commodity Cash and Futures Markets
  • Understanding of regional and global supply/demand
  • Very good stakeholder management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel (formulation/models) and Microsoft Office.
  • Good understanding of macro and microeconomics
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Ability to handle pressure and think quickly.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Good conceptual knowledge

Languages:

  • English - fluent written and verbal
  • Arabic - fluent written and verbal

Skills and competencies:

  • Ability to work well and efficiently with internal team members across the globe and clients in East Africa
  • Good communication
  • Risk management
  • Analytical skills
  • Forward planning and thinking many few steps ahead
  • Logistical understanding
  • Systems like IDS, ATLAS an advantage
