The Louis Dreyfus Company Internship Program 2024 is a six-month program that provides students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commodity trading industry. The program is designed to equip interns with foundational knowledge and professional skills in one of the company’s business platforms.

As a Coffee Intern, you will be introduced to and become an integral part of our coffee team. You will work with experienced professionals in coffee team and interact with colleagues to gain insight into the commodity industry. You will be given the opportunity to collaborate with Asia heads (Coffee, Operations, Marketing, Sustainability, Analysis) to develop your own sense of the working environment in the business platform.

Main Responsibilities:

Research

  • Prepare BI dashboards with focus on Asian coffee origins. Example – Coffee exports/imports of Asian origins, coffee stocks (HCMC/Bandar Lampung).
  • Help to structure and organize research data - data that doesn’t directly feed into balance sheets and isn’t available in MARS – stocks, prices, phyto data, other secondary datasets.
  • Analyse coffee consumption and growth in Asia.

Sustainability

  • Support the regional manager in the assessment and review of the current sustainability operations processes within the region, working together to define an improvement plan aiming at improving LDC operational efficiency in sustainability.
  • Design a map of sustainability partners and solutions within the region to facilitate the expansion of LDC's Coffee Sustainability Strategy
  • Prepare a sustainability presentation tailored for the Asia region

Requirements:

  • 0 – 1 years of working experience in commodity trading/related sector
  • Degree/Master studies
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle conditions of uncertainty
  • MS Office, Excel
  • Knowledge of Python/R and SQL is a plus.
