The North American Grains and Oilseeds Middle Office is a dynamic and proactive business partner providing a vital data and analytical link between Front Office commodity traders and Back Office teams throughout the company. This position will be specifically responsible for producing accurate and timely reporting of daily trade positions and analysis and will serve as a point of contact for any questions on positions.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Analyze data, perform controls, and reconcile to futures broker to validate the accuracy of positions.
  • Upload futures and options to Atlas.
  • Distribute positions and support commercial and finance on any inquiries or issues.
  • Validate the Market Risk report utilized by the global team and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Manage new business needs to ensure all products are reported accurately.
  • Weekly and monthly biodiesel transfers.
  • Reconcile trade position vs accounting position and adjust accordingly after thorough analysis.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Supervises subordinates as assigned by management.
  • Perform contract analysis and communicate inaccuracies to merchandising assistants.
  • Perform management projects or ADHOC requests as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

 

Experience

The following is the basic qualification

  • Three (plus) years of experience in corporate accounting/financial function or Middle Office.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

The following are the basic qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel, including use of pivot tables, V-Lookups and other advanced features
  • Proficiency with accounting software

The following are the preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Familiarity with mark-to-market and lower-of-cost-or-market inventory concepts
  • Proficiency with SAP BFC / EPM / Excel Link Software
  • Proficiency with PowerBI
  • Ability to organize multiple responsibilities, prioritize workload and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills
