About the role

The Louis Dreyfus Company are currently recruiting for the full-time position of Assistant Ginner, based in Moree. This position is responsible for the efficient, effective and safe operation of all areas under their control as Assistant Ginner. Whilst based in Moree, this position may require travel to work at other LDC gin sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Gin Operation and Safety
  • Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the gin site
  • Maintenance – constantly monitor and maintain machinery and equipment to the highest standard to facilitate continuity of production and quality.
  • Employee supervision
  • Work permits - Assist ginner and site management with ensuring work permits are completed for all high risk activity

Essential skills

  • Mechanical Experience or trade background
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses in process and implement best practices
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently takes initiative and challenges when required
  • Good work ethic and team player
  • Ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers and third parties
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Desired but not essential skills

  • Prior experience supervising staff in a maintenance/production environment
  • Sound computer skills
