The Middle Office function plays a central role in this ecosystem. We review, validate, explain, and continuously improve the position data that underpins risk monitoring, P&L production, management reporting, and business decision-making across the group.

We are looking for a Middle Office Analyst who combines analytical discipline, market curiosity, and strong execution; someone who enjoys staying close to the data, understands the commercial reality behind positions, and can work effectively with Trading, Risk, Finance, and other Middle Office teams.

The opportunity:

  • Hands-on position review and validation
  • Direct interaction with Trading, Risk, Finance, and regional Middle Office teams
  • Exposure to the markets traded by LDC’s commercial desks
  • Ownership of daily data quality, controls, and issue resolution
  • Regional responsibility in EMEA, with coordination across other regions

You will sit at the crossroads of markets, position data, controls, and reporting, with the mandate to help ensure that positions are accurate, explainable, and fit for purpose for trading, risk, finance, and management decisions.

    Main Responsibilities

    Position Review & Validation

    • Review and validate daily position data for EMEA activities, ensuring positions are complete, accurate, and consistent with business expectations.
    • Develop a strong understanding of the markets traded by the commercial desks, including the main products, trading flows, derivatives, pricing references, and position drivers.
    • Investigate position breaks, unexplained movements, data inconsistencies, and reporting anomalies.
    • Ensure that position data is fit for purpose for risk monitoring, P&L production, management reporting, and downstream analytics.

    Data Quality & Governance:

    • Operate and improve controls over position data, focusing on completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
    • Identify recurring data quality issues and contribute to sustainable remediation actions.
    • Support automation, dashboarding, and exception-based controls where relevant.

    Regional Coordination & Global Alignment:

    • Act as a point of contact for EMEA position data topics, while ensuring consistency with global processes and reporting expectations.
    • Support the harmonization of position reporting standards across regions, platforms, and systems.
    • Contribute to the identification and resolution of cross-regional data issues affecting position reporting.
    • Help document business rules, data mappings, and validation logic used in position reporting.

    Analytics & Reporting

    • Support reporting and analytical use cases built on position data.
    • Contribute to improvements in Power BI / reporting outputs and ensure the underlying position data is correctly interpreted.
    • Use analytical tools to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
    • Bring curiosity and initiative to the use of automation, analytics, and AI in Middle Office processes.

     

    Candidate Profile

    • Experience in Middle Office, Risk, Trading Support, Product Control, Operations, or Data Management functions.
    • Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
    • Understanding of trading positions, derivatives, financial products, or commodity markets.
    • Ability to identify, explain, and resolve data quality issues and reporting anomalies.
    • Experience with data governance, controls, reconciliations, and exception management.
    • Proficiency in reporting and analytical tools, including Excel and Power BI.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across Trading, Risk, Finance, and regional teams.
    • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization.
