The LDC Tax function is focused on protecting shareholder value by establishing strong tax control frameworks in relation to both tax compliance and tax dispute management and developing effective tax strategies in relation to indirect tax, M&A, and other related tax planning.

Reporting to the Country Tax Manager (Singapore), your role will be to support all aspects of tax operations in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as the broader South and Southeast Asia Region, with particular focus on tax compliance and tax dispute management – dealing with both direct and indirect taxes.

To meet the current and future needs of the Group, you will be involved in the numerous tax projects which includes doing research on and implementing various tax initiatives in the respective countries in the region. You will be working with the various stakeholders to understand the business and share with them the tax impacts on the business operations in today's ever-changing environment.

The role is in Singapore, and coverage includes mainly Singapore and Malaysia, but also countries in the SSEA Region.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate tax compliance and filing of tax returns of the company and its subsidiaries
  • Collate the requisite information to enable the reporting of financial information to comply with the tax reporting requirements
  • Review monthly and annual tax provision calculations (corporate and deferred tax) of the company and its subsidiaries
  • Review tax fixed assets work papers for accuracy and completeness
  • Compute and filing of tax estimate of the companies and its subsidiaries
  • Review and filing of GST / SST returns
  • Prepare and filing of withholding tax returns
  • Support tax inquires including the preparation of required responses and documentation for tax audits and notices
  • Review intercompany reporting for accuracy and collate data for transfer pricing documentation
  • Support statutory audit process relating to tax disclosures and others
  • Provide support to the regional tax team on ad hoc projects
  • Leverage technology in various forms, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax compliance.

Experience

  • At least 3 to 5 years relevant experience in corporate income tax and/or tax accounting areas
  • SCTP accreditation and in-house tax experience will be an added advantage
  • Excellent knowledge in Corporate Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax and Withholding Tax and willingness to keep abreast of latest updates on direct and indirect tax matters
  • Meticulous and strong attention to detail, and be committed to delivering high quality work
  • Able to work independently, self-initiative and to meet tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholders across functions and businesses

Other skills (Computer Skills, etc)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experienced in using SAP systems and familiar with data extraction / analysis.

Languages

  • English (Fluent)

Academics

  •  Degree in Accountancy, Taxation, ACCA, or equivalent
