Shanghai, China, March 20, 2024 – Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), a leading global merchant and processor of agricultural goods, is showcasing its range of plant-based ingredients and packaged cooking oils, as a first time participant at the Food Ingredients China (FIC) exhibition.
“Driven by a growing health-conscious consumer base in China, demand for plant-based diet options is on the rise, fueling the continued expansion of China’s plant-based ingredients market,” said Zhao Hong, LDC’s Head of Ingredients for North Asia. “In line with our commitment to growing with the country, we are forging strategic collaborations across the value chain to deliver high-quality ingredient products and solutions for use in functional foods, nutraceutical products, personal care products and other non-food applications.”
LDC is showcasing several of its plant-based ingredient products, including packaged cooking oils, glycerol and phospholipids (lecithin) from soybeans, sunflower seeds and rapeseeds, on its 66m2 stand at FIC. LDC offers transparent phospholipids produced using advanced processes, suitable for applications such as soft capsules, and has global production capacity integrated with existing oilseeds processing capacity – including in strategic regions of China.
