Pillars of Sustainability
For this reason, we work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
With the exception of our citrus farms in Brazil, we do not produce agricultural goods ourselves – but rather work closely with farmers who grow the products we source, process and distribute. As a global merchant and processor, we therefore leverage our leading position in the value chain to influence adoption of responsible practices by the suppliers to our business lines.
Working alongside the Louis Dreyfus Foundation and various business partners and expert organizations, we share sustainable farming techniques with farmers around the world, helping them to reduce production costs and boost yields, and ultimately improve their livelihoods.
We also collaborate with peers, investors and like-minded business partners through multi-stakeholder initiatives addressing issues from workers’ rights to supply chain transparency, and from technology-enabled food innovation to shipping decarbonization
In 2020, dialogue and collaboration continued to accelerate our drive toward more sustainable global supply chains, and we are grateful for these partnerships, and the insights and constructive criticism they provide.
