5. Economic Development
Support economic empowerment through job creation and education, and by promoting improved access to markets
6. Safety at Work
Continually reinforce a culture where safety comes first – all day, every day – for every LDC employee and contractor
7. Human Rights
Adopt and promote fair labor practices, and eliminate child and forced labor from our supply chains, and respect diversity in all its forms
Remove any discriminatory imbalances that exist for people working for LDC, and influence others to do the same
These goals present LDC with an opportunity to identify and implement business-led solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges.
Recognizing that we can have a greater impact by working with others, and in line with SDG17, which calls for partnerships for the goals, we work alongside supply chain partners, industry peers, international organizations and many other stakeholders to promote fair and sustainable practices across our sites, operations and activities, guided by our company purpose.
“As a leading merchant and processor of agricultural goods, our position in the value chain puts us in prime position to advance the SDGs by working collaboratively toward increasingly sustainable supply chains. We continued to do this in 2020, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.
