Our Approach

Sustainability Governance

To help uphold our purpose of creating fair and sustainable value, we have established a governance structure that ensures we monitor and maintain momentum by focusing on key areas.

Board Level Governance

Conscious of the strategic importance of sustainability, the Group has defined governance at Supervisory Board level, with the Sustainability Committee.

Sustainability Committee

This Committee supports the Supervisory Board in fulfilling its responsibility for oversight of the Company’s ongoing objectives, goals, strategies and activities related to sustainability, including commitment to environmental stewardship (including land use, water stewardship, carbon emissions), health and safety, corporate social responsibility, human and labor rights, and other ESG matters relevant to the Company.

Committee members include:
Margarita Louis-Dreyfus (Chairperson), Alex Cesar, Andreas Jacobs

Executive Level Governance

In addition to board level governance, our senior executive management provides guidance on sustainability and energy transition strategies, programs and workstreams, reviewing progress on key initiatives and ensuring cross‑functional coordination.

Sustainability & Energy Transition Steering Committee

The Committee serves as LDC’s senior-level governance forum providing strategic direction, oversight and alignment in relation to sustainability and energy transition priorities. It functions as the central platform for updating LDC leadership on strategic developments, calibrating risk management strategies, reviewing performance indicators and steering long-term sustainability and energy transition roadmaps, in line with corporate strategy, operation execution and external commitments.

External Advisory Groups

LDC has established external advisory groups related to Climate & Land and Human Rights, as part of our sustainability governance structure. In addition to external advisors, group members are LDC senior leaders, including our Group CEO, signaling commitment from the highest level of the company.

Climate & Land

This group serves as a strategic advisory committee that contributes to the Group’s understanding of evolving environmental and sustainability frameworks. Through the diverse perspectives and expertise of its members, the advisory group provides independent insight, assumptions and guidance to the Group in shaping, validating and ensuring that its environmental priorities and strategy align with evolving stakeholder expectations.

Human Rights

This group guides our approach to all issues related to human rights, from fostering a fair and inclusive workplace at LDC to addressing challenges related to labor practices in our supply chains. Through the diverse expertise of its members, this group provides independent insight and guidance to the Group in shaping, validating, and ensuring that its priorities and Human Rights Due Diligence strategy are aligned with evolving stakeholder and regulatory expectations.
