We invest in the development and resilience of local communities living close to our operations around the world, encouraging our employees to support and volunteer in their communities, wherever they live and work.

At LDC, we empower our people everywhere to create positive change in the local communities where we operate.
Working with local experts, we want to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals related to education, climate change, poverty, health and life on earth.
We do this by creating jobs, protecting the environment, training farming communities and supporting health and education projects.
Our people are encouraged to propose initiatives for local action, and to submit projects for support from the Louis Dreyfus Foundation.

Farmer training center in India
We opened a center in Gurugram to train farmers in new crop technologies and efficient irrigation methods.
School breakfasts in Kenya
We offer pupils at Timboni Primary School, near our logistic facility in Mombasa, a healthy breakfast program.
Safer Learning Environment in Uganda
We helped ensure a safer learning environment at Suubi Primary School in Kampala, by providing a 10,000-liter water tank, mosquito nets, books, desks and fire extinguishers.
Cooking stoves in Uganda
We supply smallholder coffee farmers with safe and efficient cooking stoves, protecting health and taking pressure off forests in Rwenzon.
