Building Global Expertise
In 2022, we established a global team of senior professionals to build a carbon knowledge center and guide the Group’s decarbonization journey, opening regional desks in Asia (Beijing, China), Latin America (São Paulo, Brazil) and North America (Wilton, US).
Decarbonizing Our Operations
Working closely with all of LDC’s commercial platforms, the Carbon Solutions team initiated and coordinated a range of emissions reduction projects and green power purchase agreements around the world, including for the supply of renewable power to our agro-industrial complex in Timbúes, Argentina.
Measuring Progress
In line with our efforts to help mitigate global warming, including through LDC’s commitment to eliminate deforestation for agricultural purposes from our supply chains, in 2022 the Platform advanced work on its framework to measure Scope 3 emissions across all business lines, and report on them from 2023.

More Carbon Solutions Highlights
Traded actively in voluntary and mandatory carbon markets to support decarbonization efforts, monitoring and anticipating key developments, trends and value drivers in the industry.
Built an international portfolio of carbon credits with a focus on nature-based solutions and regenerative agriculture, working closely with other commercial platforms to identify opportunities.
Contributed to a successful biofuel trial on LDC’s first carbon neutral juice shipment, a 55-day return voyage between Belgium and Brazil.
Completed a pilot emissions allowance spot transaction in Tianjin, China – the first of its kind in Asia for LDC.
